Single vs Bulk Upload

You could publish documents to edocr.com using one of the following two methods:

  1. Single upload - available to any pricing plan
  2. Bulk upload - only available to PRO and BUSINESS pricing plans. Upload up to 25 documents.

Once you have activated your account, you can start uploading your documents. Please refrain from uploading documents for which you do not own copyrights or have permission from the copyright owner. You can either select the bulk upload button from the top of the screen to upload a maximum of 25 documents at a time or select individual document upload button, especially if you do not have flash player 9 or higher installed. Select bulk upload button first to find the link to single file upload link that appears just below upload files button. Please note that FREE pricing plan does not have bulk upload option.

Bulk Upload will automatically assign the file name as document title, which you can edit. With respect to indexing by Google, Bing and other major search engines, the most important aspect of your document is your document title. Leaving the filename as document title with hyphens and codes means, search engines will have a hard time indexing, which means no one will be able to find your documents through internet search. So, please take few minutes to get this aspect of document uploading correct.

Please enter relevant keywords as tags, a description for the document and select the most appropriate category for the document content.

 

Document Publishing Options

Publishing options are:

  • Free
  • Personal use only
  • Access only to users who have the same email extension
  • Access only to selected number of buddies
  • Access only to all buddies
  • Access only to selected groups

 

Document Categories

During bulk upload or editing your document page at anytime, you can change the category of the document. Do get in touch if the relevant category is not available.  All documents under the same category could be found by visiting Documents on the menu bar and then selecting categories from the left side bar.

 

Document Tagging

Just like document categories, tagging can be added during the document uploading process as well as by editing the document page. In addition anyone including you as the publisher can add new tags to any document directly on the document page without having to choose the document edit function. All documents tags with a certain keyword could be found by changing the url to http://www.edocr.com/tags/keyword. Replace "keyword" with the tag of your interest.

 

Document Downloading and Printing

Documents on edocr.com can be downloaded and printed by anyone free of charge. Downloading has been restricted to registered users only.

 

Document accessibility settings

Accessible by:

  • Anyone
  • Registered users only
  • Email address consent required
If last option is chosen, only those who have given consent for publishers to access their email addresses can access the document.

Displaying and Organising Documents

Both single file upload and bulk upload provide a minimalistic window in terms of information capture during the upload process. Once the document upload process has been completed, you can select EDIT within document page to change the following document attributes:

  1. Document title
  2. Document category
  3. Tags
  4. Document description
  5. Special interest groups the document can be assigned to for further discussion
  6. Source URL
  7. Privacy settings (coming soon - paying subscribers only)
  8. Lead capture settings (coming soon - paying subscribers only)
  9. Language (no effect right now - coming soon)
  10. Orientation (no effect right now - coming soon)
  11. Promote to top of company profile (paying subscribers only)
