Product Improvement Strategy

Since June 2011, we have embarked on a major programme to improve full functionality of edocr.com, adopting a two-fold approach:

  1. Improve up to 80% of how a particular function or feature should perform.
  2. Revisit later to bring that functionality or feature to 100% - the optimum solution.
This approach allows us to give you a better overall user experience, and the time gap allows us to obtain a better understanding of how to achieve 100% of what we like that functionality or feature to be, after taking your requests and comments into consideration. 


Refinements

Since June 2011, we have refined following areas:

  1. Header - we made Search bar more prominent, introduced new button for Upgrade, and improved overall usability of the header area.
  2. Sign up - we simplified sign up process, removing the need to add lot of information during sign up. We also introduced a new upgrade page. 
  3. Pricing plans - we simplified the pricing plans and changed FREE to be a permanent trial plan.
  4. Document Viewer - we replaced document viewer from legacy Macromedia Flashpaper. We plan to offer HTML5 viewing experience later on.
  5. Document Processing Engine (DPE) - we replaced the DPE completely and moved it from our offices to Amazon Web Services.
  6. My Account - We made my account easier to navigate but some of the profile information is yet to be displayed.
  7. Leads - The improved functionality is much faster, but displays less information for the time being.

 

Temporary Limitations

  1. Document Embedding - It is not possible to embed new documents uploaded since late August 2011. Any documents uploaded before which uses Macromedia Flashpaper is not affected. 
  2. Track  - We have withdrawn the ability to display every view a document had
  3. Analytics  - We have withdrawn the ability to display document views over time, for the time being.
  4. Leads - We have withdrawn the ability to display document leads with full profile information. Instead, you can see the avators of those who accessed your documents. This functionality is only available under PRO and BUSINESS pricing plans.
  5. Profile - Most of the profile information is not available for the time being.
  6. Buddy Requests - Request sent to others to become a Buddy is currently not available.

We are currently improving following areas:

  1. Document leads.
  2. Document processing.
